Set against the spectacular backdrop of Nova Scotia’s North Mountain and Bay of Fundy coast, Way of the Horsebow is a two-hour introduction to Dynamic Archery Martial Arts — where traditional archery meets movement, rhythm, speed and focus.
Using the traditional horsebow, you’ll begin with the fundamentals and quickly progress into the skills that make horseback archery possible: instinctive aiming, efficient loading, fluid shooting and finding accuracy while moving and under pressure.
Rather than simply standing on a shooting line, you’ll experience archery as something dynamic — an ancient martial skill that challenges both body and mind.
Your experience is led by Lance Bishop and Sarah Clarke who are two of North America’s most accomplished horseback archers. Lance and Sarah are both World Federation of Equestrian Archery (WFEA) International Instructors and competitive athletes. Lance is currently North America’s highest-ranked competitor within the WFEA martial arts grading system and also holds the position of an International Judge for the WFEA. Sarah is the highest-ranked woman in North America within the same system.
Way of the Horsebow is designed especially to make this remarkable martial art approachable, exciting and fun for people experiencing it for the first time.
All bows, arrows and archery equipment are provided.
